When you receive an AAF or OMF sequence from the Avid editor and raw production source audio from the production sound mixer, you import the sequence, then either import the raw production source audio, or instruct Pro Tools to search for matching audio outside the session.
Once the production audio is imported or located, Pro Tools will be able to match them together.
